COVID-19 Policies and Procedures

The health and safety of our Tobiano staff, community and golfers is our top priority in these unprecedented times. Outlined below are the steps Tobiano is taking to provide the safest and most enjoyable golf environment for everyone, and here linked are our complete COVID-19 Safety Measures including standard protocols for all departments, golf operations, golf, the Black Iron Club & Grill and Golf Course Maintenance. Please note these policies and procedures are subject to change at any time.


Public Tee Time Policy

  • All bookings must be made by calling the golf shop at 250-434-7373
  • First name, last name, phone number, e-mail address and valid credit card number are mandatory for all bookings
  • Tee times will be available daily with starting times fluctuating based on daylight
  • Tee times will be 10 minutes apart
  • Walk-ons are not permitted
  • Same day replay rounds may not be available

Cart Sharing Formats

  • Threesomes
    • three players of your social circle in two carts
    • two same social circle players + another person in a separate cart.
  • Foursomes cart sharing
    • four players of your social circle in two carts
    • two same social circle players in a shared cart and two same social circle players in a shared cart
  • Cart dividers/sneeze guards are available for those players unwilling to share a power cart
  • Individual carts are available at an extra charge of $25 for the additional seat
  • Special exceptions will be made to allow a maximum of 3 power carts in a group, arrangements for this must be made in advance through the Pro shop. The charge of $25 for the additional seat will apply.
  • Carts MUST be off the golf course by the posted time NO EXCEPTIONS

Public Check-in and Payment Policy

  • Upon arrival please speak to the outside service employee
  • For the safety of our staff and guests we want to limit any unnecessary patrons entering the building so we encourage payment of green fees be done with the credit card left on file at the time of the booking, however you may enter the pro shop to pay for your green fee if necessary.
  • You will then be assigned a cart that has been sanitized for your use. Please fill out the cart waiver form on the steering wheel in full and drop it in the cart waiver form box provided. Please do not use your own lysol wipes on the GPS screens as some chemicals may damage them
  • NO BAG DROP service at this time, you are required to load and unload your items on the power carts yourselves
  • Please do not arrive more than 1 hour prior to your tee time (so as to limit the number of people in parking lot and around the clubhouse building)
  • Please be at the first tee and teeing off at your specific tee time
  • Food and beverage service will be available from The Black Iron Club & Grill. Seating is be limited, reservations are recommended.

Golf Shop Policy

  • The golf shop will be open and limited to four people allowed in at one time
  • There will be no refunds or exchanges on any merchandise purchased at this time
  • The preferred method of payment is by credit card or debit card
  • We encourage payment of green fees be done as per our payment and check in policy (for the safety of our staff and guests we want to limit any unnecessary access to the building) however you may enter the pro shop to pay for your green fee if necessary

Practice Facility Policy

  • Hours of operation are 1 hour before the first tee time and closing 1 hour before dusk 7 days per week, however the driving range will close weekly between 4:00pm Tuesday and 9:00am Wednesday for grounds maintenance purposes.
  • The driving range and practice facilities will be open for use by golfers 1 hour prior to their tee time and for Tobiano members and Tobiano T-Card holders for up to 1 hour per day, based on availability.
  • The 1st Tee putting green is only available to the group that is next up on the tee box.
  • Social distancing is required while using all practice facilities at Tobiano, with a MAXIMUM of 4 people at one time on the chipping and putting greens.
  • There will be no practice balls available at the chipping and putting greens. You must utilize your own golf balls.
  • Other than green fee players, public use of the practice facilities is not permitted at this time

On-Course Measures

  • Please return your power cart to the designated cart drop off area in front of the clubhouse
  • Garbage and Recycling bins will be available in the designated cart drop off area
  • Please COMPLETELY empty your cart of all personal belongings and GARBAGE
  • If you have placed an order for take out from The Black Iron Club & Grill, please call 250-434-5858 to arrange your pick up
  • Please avoid socializing in the parking lot after your round

After Round Policy

  • Please return your power cart to the designated cart drop off area in the front of the clubhouse
  • Garbage and recycling bins will be available in the designated cart drop off area
  • Please COMPLETELY empty your cart of all personal belongings and GARBAGE
  • Please avoid excess socializing in the parking lot after your round

General Information and procedures

  • If you have traveled outside of Canada, you are not permitted at our facility until you have self-isolated for a minimum of 14 days
  • If you are showing symptoms of COVID-19, please do not come to our facility. Call you doctor, local public health or call 8-1-1
  • If you live in a household with someone who has COVID-19 or is showing symptoms of COVID -19, please do not come to our facility
  • Please practice social distancing at all times (6ft apart from each other) NO handshaking, NO hugging etc.
  • Do not handle each other’s golf balls, tees, ball markers etc
  • We will not be providing tees or pencils on the power carts
  • Following the recommendations from Health Canada, we encourage all players to wear a mask or some face covering while playing
  • THE CLUBHOUSE IS OPEN WITH LIMITIED SEATING AVAILABLE
  • The restrooms on the outside of the pro shop are open and will be sanitized regularly
  • We are not accepting international guests at this time

Anyone not in compliance with these policies and procedures will be asked to vacate the premises and no refund will be issued.
