Hit the Ale Trail in Kamloops BC

Since their first brewpub opened back in 2010, Kamloops has eagerly embraced all that is ale. Now with more breweries available to visit, it’s a perfect place to combine your love of golf and appreciation for finely crafted beer. So where do you start?

Go Noble

The Noble Pig Brewhouse gets first billing, as it was the first brewpub to open in the city. Since then it’s become renowned for it’s ability to present unique beer alongside memorable culinary creations. After a warm day of golf, cool of with a Sun Kissed Grapefruit Radler or House Lager and enjoy flatbreads, poutine, pretzels, or a range of incredible entrees including Drunken Lamb Roulade or Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese.

See Red

Next on the trail is the Red Collar Brewing Co., established by craft beer guru David Beardsell (renowned for helping to start up The Noble Pig). Enjoy the lovely patio as you partake of one (or more) of a dozen beers on tap. If you’ve sunned yourself out golfing, grab a board game and head inside for entertainment while you sample their menu, which includes charcuterie, wings and artisan pizzas.

Full Metal

Iron Road Brewing is the next stop on your tour-de-ale, with brews crafted by Aaron MacInnes, formerly of Main Street Brewing in Vancouver (so you know they’re good!). Besides the fantastic beer selection, they offer something a bit different – a taqueria. Choose from a variety of interesting taco selections, such as winter root veggie and raw ahi tuna, to more classic pulled pork, chicken mole, and steak options.

Beer Beard

Fourth and final on the ale trail is The Red Beard Cafe. Yes, it’s a coffee house primarily, but lately has delved deeply (and successfully) into the craft beer and cider trade. While they don’t brew in-house, they do bring in some of the top varieties locally and from around the continent for a North American craft experience. Besides the terrific selection of beverages, you can try out fun fare including banana sauce wings, duck and bison burgers, or their renowned grilled cheese.

Whether you visit one or them all, you’re guaranteed a memorable craft beer experience in Kamloops!
